Casa Windeck almost appears to rise from the slope of Ronco s/Ascona. It was a small structure that WMR has redesigned and transformed into an actual detached house perched on the hill.
The most fascinating aspect of the project consisted in the harmonious use of stone and fair-faced reinforced concrete. However, even the structure has been designed with maximum attention to detail. A clear example of this consisted in the pre-compression of the exposed roof slab to support the loads of the large slab spans. This is in fact the part where we intervened in order to make Casa Windeck not only a beautiful place to live in, but also an extremely safe place.
